vUAL Aircraft and FSX:SE

Post by UAL347 David Goudzwaard » May 7th, 2018, 5:23 pm

I picked up FSX:SE on one of their sales events and thought I'd play around with it. I can't seem to get the vUAL down-loadable aircraft to work with it even though I have verified that the installer did put the aircraft in the correct directory, it is just not showing up in the aircraft selection list when I load FSX:SE. Is there a trick or is it just not compatible with the SE?

Thanks!

Sounds like the airplane config file is not being updated. If you can tell me one of the planes you downloaded, I'll give it a try and report back, David. Cheers.

Kevin,
Thanks for the reply. I tried to install the 787-300. The exe ran fine with no errors. I have attached the cfg file if that helps (changed the extension so it would attach). Any insight you might have would be great.

I tried reinstalling the 787, but that didn't work. So I tried the 767 and it was on the selection screen, it showed up on the external view, but when I went to VC nothing was there. The entire fuselage was missing, but the wings where there. Guess I'll just have to fork over the cash and get the QW787! :D

Having this issue and another. The CRJ-700 comes out as a question mark because there is already a CRJ-700 in the Airplane files. Perhaps this is why. My problem is the speed button does not lock or light. I can fly any craft and it works fine, even the original CRJ-700 but any craft I download from vUAL does not. The AP works fine but doesn't control speed because there is no speed locked any.
Appreciate any help.
PS I already uninstalled everything and reinstalled with out any added crafts except vUAL Embraer ERJ-145ER/LR/XR and it does the same, no speed lock.

Ok, I'll wait for the answers to come pouring in :P

That didn't take long. The first thing they tell you to do is look around the forum first before posting. On the last page I found the answer, there is no Autothrottle on the Bombabadiers.

Been awhile since I past flew FSX:SE but I think it comes with a default CRJ-700. You might find a United livery for it on AVSIM or oneof the other simming file libraries.

I had issues with the vUAL CRJ700 paint download showing up as a 3D model with no paint and blank panels. I did find an excellent remedy for adding livery paint to the default CRJ700. There is a paint package with installer at FlyAwaySimulation.com. Setup was a snap and I had zero issues. I'm flying the default FSX SE CRJ700. I'm also planning to try the freeware vasFMC to use with it to allow altitude crossing restrictions to be met.

Cheers.
