Ok! Ready! Get set! Go!

Where are we going? We're off to cross six (6) bridges enroute to touching down at one of the nations most heavily monitored airspaces. Welcome to Ronald Regan/Washington National Airport KDCA.

On the heels of our trip to LaGuardia last week and the much-gained experience flying the visual approach - at night even - we're ready for this one. We're gonna make the entire VA proud of our accomplishments - TRUST ME. Plus, there is an underlying benefit each pilot will receive. More on that in a while...

"Ya gotta cross (fly over) six bridges on your way to a touchdown".

. Chains Bridge
. Key Bridge
. Roosevelt Meml Bridge
. Arlington Meml Bridge
. George Mason Meml Bridge
. Rochambeau Meml Bridge

Check your plates for this visual approach. You can see, the approach plate suggests the 'step-down' crossing altitudes along the way.

So, "What's the benefit you're talking about"? "Ahhh Ha". Virtual United Airlines (vUAL) has an 8-leg Award - "Hard Landings Award". This TNS run would be the sixth (6th) leg of that tour. So, hows 'bout this? Land at or below a -150/fpm rate and you would have snatched 1/8th of that Award. Life's great! You get to fly with a bunch of fellow pilots AND snag 1/8th of the Hard Landings Award. How cool...

We're borrowing some ramp space from the Chicago Hub KORD for this event.
