HOW TO: Request a leave of absence (LOA)

Post by UAL004 Danny Vinson » July 11th, 2017, 4:36 pm

As stated in our operations guide:

2.7 Leave of Absences:

Every member of Virtual United Airlines has the right to request a LOA if they
deem it necessary or they feel that they are unable to meet the required flight
requirement as stated in this handbook. Before requesting a LOA, you must have
been an active pilot of vUAL for at least three (3) months. Leave of Absences may
be filed for up to ninety (90) days, with exceptions made for specific reasons by
Human Resources.

To request a LOA, please go to the CAREERS tab on the main page and click on LEAVE REQUEST. LOA's are 99.99% approved, unless you do not meet the requirements outlined above.

Once a pilot is removed from the roster, it is not possible to retain or download their current information, awards, hours, etc. If you wish to return to vUAL, and you were released from the roster, you will have to start over in rank, unless you have verifiable transfer hours available. All awards and recognition items must be obtained again and CANNOT be given back to rehires!

If you are active duty Military, please notify us of any circumstances which might prevent you from meeting the flight requirements of this VA for a time period.

**NOTE: IT IS THE POLICY OF THIS VIRTUAL AIRLINE TO GRANT LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR EXTENDED TIME PERIODS TO THOSE WHO SERVE OUR COUNTRY AND ARE DEPLOYED OR UNABLE TO MEET THE FLIGHT REQUIREMENTS FOR ANY REASON RELATED TO AN ACTIVE DUTY ORDER**
