I've successfully completed two flights in MSFS2020 now with ACARs. However the SimConnect issues are a real issue causing low FPS, especially on approach (1-2 FPS). I have a high end PC and can run all settings maxed without dropping below 20FPS, but as soon as any external program connects to the sim, FPS drop. This means using all my Saitek panels, or anything that uses FSUIPC (vUAL ACARs, vPilot).
Has anyone found a work around for this or are we stuck waiting on MS to fix it.
Really a beautiful game, but it should still be in beta. Half the panel switches and gauges are inop, ATC still sucks, and VNAV is sporadic at best.

Re: MSFS2020
The current FSUIPC7 is beta for MSFS2020, and it is a known issue with the huge FPS drop when connecting an external program. I am also very disappointed in the airliners, namely the A320 with over 30 inop switches. The eye candy is great although users are finding glitches there too. Key West looks horrible with mapping spiked pillars. There is a water glitch in Anchorage. I agree, a very unpolished game, especially coming from a multibillion dollar company. However, there is a patch that is supposed to be released on the 3rd I think, but don't know if it will address the huge FPS drop. That is more of the coding author of FSUIPC7 which is why it is free until Sept 30th.
On a positive note, MSFS "World Simulator" did do a great job of weather and lighting. They did come through with the promise of flying VFR anywhere. This "sandbox" is a foundation on which to build, so it will only get better with time. I will wait until a third party releases a fully functional 737, as that is my aircraft of choice. Can do short hauls, fly into smaller airports, and is capable of 5+hr flights and can do a shorter transatlantic.

Tim,
I feel that the A320 is better not flown especially if you are used to payware quality in the A320 family.

I believe MS released a patch yesterday (?) to address the Simconnect issue. I'm not using MSFS yet so not sure...

Re: MSFS2020 Simconnect FPS Drop Fixed!
Good news,
The patch fixed the horrible FPS drop with sim connect and I've flown my first flight on VATSIM as well as using smartCARS.
There is also a file mod that improves FPS in glass cockpit aircraft +5-20 FPS. Haven't installed it yet, but plan to.
